Double-shear nailing of this galvanized half base between the beam and the post adds strength. The BC series offers a dual-purpose post cap/base for the light cap or base connections. This connector was made to withstand uplift and lateral forces. It eliminates nailing into the end grain and decreases the risk of post-splitting.
